Hello, my name is Liz and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I live with my husband, son and daughter in Horfield, Bristol.

I provide a welcoming, safe and caring home-from-home environment where play is at the centre of learning for your child. I work within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines.

We have regular outings to play groups, the zoo, city farms, the library and participate in forest school sessions.

At home the children have lots of opportunities for messy and sensory play, age appropriate activities as well as free play and quiet activities.

The setting has a wide range of toys for all ages and a good sized enclosed garden for outdoor and messy play.

I provide healthy snacks and home cooked meals for the children.

The most important thing to me is that the children are happy and settled and enjoy their time in the setting.

My Qualifications:
• Ofsted registered
• DBS cleared
• Paediatric First Aid trained
• Completed the Bristol City Council ‘Preparing to work as a homebased childcarer’ course.
• Completed several other childcare training courses including safeguarding, behaviour management, food hygiene

My fees are £5.50 per hour which includes food and outings/activities.

Our clubs follow a weekly activity schedule and every week we choose a fun theme to inspire all the club sessions. We understand that children have different interests, and ensure that each day is filled with a wide range of activities suitable for children aged 4-11.

Children are given the opportunity to try a range of activities including arts and crafts, science workshops and action games. We encourage children to try something new, but understand that not every activity suits every child so an alternative is always available. Siblings and friends can stay together, although they are sure to make new friends too!

There are plenty of breaks for drinks and snacks ensuring that children stay full of energy.

I currently have part-time vacancies available, age range 1-5 yrs. I also have experience of looking after older children who may not been in school, or are being home-educated.
I provide a relaxing and safe home-from-home environment where children are warmly welcomed to relaxed and be themselves. My childminding practice is based on many years experience of caring for children, and teaching theatre, believing that empowerment, collaboration, and treating everyone as equals is the key to raising confident and happy people. We have a lot of fun fun with what ever spontaneously unfolds during the day together. I involve the children in cooking, and cleaning up, and read lots of stories. I believe in holding firm boundaries for the children, whilst clearly explaining why they can or cannot do something, and all activities throughout the day are offered to the children with their opinion being listened to as and when something should happen.
