I live in Avonmouth with my husband and our 2 sons – we have a very friendly dog named Jazz.
I have level 3 in “Learning and Support Teaching in Schools” and over 25 years experience of working in various childcare settings.
As a childminder, I enjoy the fact that every day is different and activities can be totally child-led. I aim to provide a warm, secure and stimulating environment for your children whilst in my home. I will set up toys and activities that reflect your child’s interests. I will also encourage your child to pick out toys they want to play with; as and when they want to.
I provide stimulating activities that link into the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). I will plan the activities by observing what interests your children, supporting them through all areas of learning. In my setting I aim for an inclusive approach to learning where each activity can be adapted to suit the needs of each child.
Through everyday routines and planned activities I support the children to develop their activities. Children learn best when they can play, being physically active, through communication and sensory play.
Play: I have a wide range of toys and provide plenty of free play time.
Physical Activities: I will take the children out every day, whether it is to visit places like the Zoo/farm, park or walk through the woods.
Communication: I will talk to your child about their day, play activities and their interests, along with lots of singing and reading stories together.
Sensory: Nearly everything can be turned into a sensory experience whether it is water, play-dough, mud or crunching leaves whilst walking.
I hope to provide new and exciting opportunities for your children to develop new interests and independent learning experiences.
I support your child to respect themselves, each other, and their environment
