I have been childminding now for over 20 years. I trained as a primary school teacher, but began childminding when my own children were toddlers. I have attended many courses over the years on all areas of childcare and development, such as working with parents as partners, supporting children with disabilities, supporting play and planning the environment as well as many associated with the EYFS (Early years foundation stage). I have four children of my own, the youngest being 13 and the others now adults, and have cared for many children over the years so therefore have had lots of experience. We attend children centres, toddler groups and visit the library and parks regularly. I plan for your child’s next steps which include social, physical and communication skills regularly through observing their play and interests. Your child’s happiness and well being is however, the most important factor during their time with me. I have received an outstanding for my last four Ofsted reports, but most of all enjoy all the rewards that come with caring and supporting the children I work with.
