Service overview

Service Description:
South London Refugee Association Getting the Grades project provides small group English and Maths tuition to refugee, asylum seeking and vulnerable migrant young people who are preparing to take GCSE exams. Our team of qualified teachers and volunteers work every week in term time with Year 10and 11 pupils from 6 participating schools.
Our Getting the Grades is supported by a
grant from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
We know that learning English is vitally important to our clients. We run weekly ESOL classes at our Balham Drop In and a conversation class for women at our Streatham centre. Classes are taught by qualified and experienced teacher volunteers and focus on providing clients with the vocabulary and language skills they need.
