Service Description:
The Quality Improvement Team work with OFSTED registered providers in Lambeth. Their job is to promote high quality inclusive care, learning and development and to ensure that providers meet the legal requirements outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. For more information on the Framework visit here.
The Quality Improvement team consists of officers with expertise and knowledge in early learning, care and development. All have worked in a range of settings including home based care and learning, schools, nurseries and pre-schools and they have good local knowledge to support providers based within their locality areas.
The team delivers an annual training programme to early years practitioners that reflects emerging themes from national and/or local policy and supports providers to meet statutory requirements. Bespoke and targeted training or workshops based on analysis of visits and annual quality reviews are also available. In addition, the team offers support with early identification and monitoring progress for children with additional or emerging needs.
Inclusive and high quality practice across the early years sector is also supported by officers The team facilitate and support various events that focus on supporting providers to meet the needs of all children, particularly those with an emerging or identified need:

The team liaises closely with statutory agencies such as Children's Social Care and OFSTED (who regulate registered providers) to ensure that children's safety and welfare is prioritised. Officers will respond to complaints or concerns raised and are managed by School and Educational Improvement Consultants, who also support learning and development for early years in the maintained sector (nursery and reception classes and nursery schools).
