Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group

Organisation

Service overview

Service Description:
The NHS Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is responsible for commissioning or ‘buying’ healthcare services from a range of providers for the people who live and work in Lambeth
Lambeth’s 49 GP practices work together with partners in the local NHS - pharmacists, dentists, hospitals and mental health providers, Lambeth Council and local community groups, to improve health and wellbeing, reduce health inequalities, and ensure everyone has equal access to healthcare services. Lambeth CCG and Lambeth Council have established an Integrated Commissioning service to ensure the planning and development of services is joined up and as seamless as possible
Lambeth CCG is responsible for spending £430m each year on hospital and community health services for Lambeth patients in a way which ensures the most effective services are available. Along with commissioning services, the CCG is responsible for monitoring how well these services are provided. In addition to the healthcare services commissioned and monitored by Lambeth CCG, there are a few services which are commissioned by NHS England (NHSE). The CCG and Lambeth Council through the integrated commissioning team works closely with colleagues in NHSE to ensure services they commission meet local need and are aligned with other locally delivered services.
