We are passionate about supporting you and your child by providing high quality childcare in a safe, happy, and stimulating environment, free from prejudice or discrimination, where the children can discover and explore the world around them and learn from new experiences. We believe that every child deserves this opportunity to learn through play and having fun, in a way that is tailored to their individual needs and allows them to grow in confidence.
Our experienced staff, all have enhanced DBS clearance, a minimum of a level 3 qualification in Childcare and a paediatric First Aid certificate; they are also able to use simple Makaton to interact with the children. Each child has a named key person who will be your main contact and, soon after your child starts at Pre-school, a settling meeting will be arranged for you to discuss with them how everything is going. Although all our practitioners will interact with and care for your child, their key person is always a familiar face for them to go to.
We operate in modern fully accessible purpose-built rooms which are part of Parkside Primary School, with whom we have a close relationship, including offering extended hours to children from the Parkside School Nursery. We have an excellent outdoor play area, specially designed for under-fives, which has a canopy so the children can benefit from free flow play in all but the very worst weather. The Pre-school is only two minutes from Ridgeway Park allowing us to easily make use of this extra facility.
Our session times are 9.00am - 12.00pm Monday to Friday and 12.30pm – 3.15pm Monday to Thursday, term time only. We also run a Lunch Club which links the morning and afternoon sessions. Our website is designed to provide you with the basic information you need, but you are very welcome to come and visit as we would love to show your round and answer any questions you may have. Please always contact the Pre-school for current vacancy information, as children are admitted from the waiting lists in date of birth order, and places may be available.
