Service Description:Hello, my name is Chrissie, and I am an Ofsted-registered Outstanding Childminder. I am truly passionate about my role and take great pride in providing high-quality, nurturing childcare. I absolutely love working with children and feel privileged to support their development and well-being every day.
In September 2022 (and previously in September 2015), I was awarded an Outstanding grade in all categories by Ofsted. During my most recent inspection, Ofsted highlighted that:
"Children''s well-being and emotional health is of the highest importance. The childminder is extremely loving and frequently boosts children''s confidence as they play. Her highly attentive and nurturing manner supports children to behave in an extremely positive way. Very young children show excellent levels of engagement and enjoyment."
I am committed to continuous professional development and regularly participate in training to enhance my knowledge and skills. I have recently completed the National Professional Qualification for Early Years Leadership (NPQEYL), which has deepened my expertise in delivering high-quality early years education. In addition, I regularly attend childminder training sessions, PACEY online courses, and the highly regarded Childcare.co.uk webinars led by Sarah Neville, among various other professional development opportunities. I also mentor other Childminders.
I am conveniently located just a 3 minute walk from Highams Park Rail Station, with the 275, 212, and W16 bus routes right on my doorstep. My home is a clean, welcoming space with a secure garden, and we also make regular use of the nearby parks, soft play group and local amenities. I provide a warm, friendly, and family-oriented environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn.
I believe in offering children a rich and varied range of experiences. This includes regular outings to age-appropriate playgroups, local parks, play dates at other settings and the library, where they can explore, play, and learn. I am also passionate about music (I play the guitar) and arts and crafts, and I encourage children to get involved in creative activities, fostering both their imagination and fine motor skills.
I deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum through engaging and interactive activities, ensuring children have the opportunity to develop skills in literacy, numeracy, creative expression, and social interaction. My approach includes learning through play, fostering curiosity, and encouraging children to explore the world around them. I also introduce them to concepts like the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colours, music, dance, and cultural awareness in a supportive, home-from-home environment.
I offer drop-off and pick-up services exclusively for Handsworth Primary/Nursery School. My before and after-school care includes support with reading, homework, and a variety of planned activities based on the children’s interests, promoting both learning and relaxation.
I prepare fresh, nutritious meals daily, catering to individual dietary requirements. I am dedicated to promoting healthy eating habits and ensure that children in my care have access to balanced and delicious meals.
My Experience
I have extensive experience caring for children of all ages, from babies to school-age children. As well as being deeply involved in the upbringing of my nephews, I am also trained to support children with autism through the ABA programme (Peach trained), which has given me valuable insights into providing tailored, compassionate care.
I am committed to fostering a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, safe, and inspired to grow. If you would like to know more about my childcare services, please feel free to contact me.
