Changing school mid-year (in-year transfers)
If you are looking to move your child between schools at any stage other than a phase transfer (see below), then you will be following the in-year transfer process.
The in-year transfer process is very similar to the phase entry process. The major difference between the processes is that all phase transfers are managed by the local authority, whereas if a school is an academy or free school, they may choose to manage their own transfers for all other year groups.
If you apply in the wrong place or to the wrong authority, your application will not be processed.
